We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, the food was excellent; we had pork for starters which just melted in the mouth. Our main course was chicken which again was superb with a really pleasent blend of vegtables. The service was very good with the staff being very friendly. This was only my second visit and the first time my partner had been. We will certainly be dining with you again.
We dined at Nobles, all choosing from the £10.66 lunch menu. Brilliant value for 2 delicious courses. Would definitely recommend

Friendly, attentive staff. Nicely presented food with an emphasis on local. We went on a Wednesday night so not many diners but could have done with some ambience, maybe background music or something to give it a bit of atmosphere.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening at Nobles in Battle. The food was delicious and the service excellent.
The food here was simply outstanding, with perfect portion sizes and fantastic service. The staff were very helpful and made the whole dining experience very pleasurable.
The owner and his wife were away on the day that we visited. (He phoned me a few days before to inform me that this would be the case, and that his sous chef was cooking on that day and that I would not be disappointed.) The quality of the food and the presentation was superb.

birthday bits were greatly appreciated by Mrs C who was overjoyed at this
restrained touch! The food was fabulous and we look forward to coming back
again – bit of a drive from the other side of Heathfield but worth it.

Just to say how well I thought you and your team did over the weekend. I heard a
lot of complimentary comments about Nobles. Hope the rain didn't put people off
or send them home.
We were a group of 4 visiting for lunch on Sunday. Whilst the restaurant was fairly quiet we received a warm welcome and the chef was happy to come to the table to explain the content of certain dishes and flexible enough to agree to serve a starter as a main upon request. The food was excellent - delicious and very well presented. We were particularly impressed by the amazing yorkshire puddings and crisp roast potatoes that went with the roast beef, plus the extremely tasty sauce with the grey mullet. However the puddings were the highlight - we ordered four different types and all were fabulous!

Another excellent meal at Nobles in Battle. I love the place and would recommend it to anyone who likes good quality food at a reasonable price. The only downside is the fairly limited menu but I reckon whatever you chose it would be good.
Book early to aviod disappointment, as this restaurant becomes busy most days. If you like a meal for two this is your place, friendly staff as run by husband and wife team. Real service with a smile.

Overall it was a great experience. A little pricy perhaps for what it is, a great team there though and good food served promptly and well presented. Portions could have been a little larger and the Foie Gras better thought out. We had a fun night and based on the area this restaurant is certainly one of the better ones.

The food at this restaurant is truly outstanding and of a quality you would associate with a first rate central London restaurant/hotel. Was a special price for one course dinner - exceptional value and quality - the fish was beautifully cooked and plate had modern stylish look to it. Had desert - a crumble that was just heaven. The service was prompt and friendly. Ambience could be slightly improved as is a little bland but understand that they are going to hang more pictures on wall - great idea! Pity I do not live near Battle - would make this my favourite restaurant.
I had been to Nobles a few times for lunch and had nice meals, so I thought I would try them for dinner; I was not disappointed. The restaurant has a great feel when you go in, with a nice decor and interesting art on the wall. The staff were very welcoming, and service was professional and quick. However the best thing about the restaurant is the food. The menu is packed with familiar dishes, but all with a twist. For a starter I had the Tartare & Seared Tuna which had a beautiful flavour, followed by the Greek Tart which tasted great and was well complimented by a fresh salad. The cost of the meal was very reasonable considering the fact that the food was all clearly freshly sourced and prepared. I will definitely be going back!
Lovely surroundings and spacious - not stuck right next to other tables which was great. I took my parents and an elderly aunt who were immediately put at ease by the waitress. They were short staffed on the day we went so we had to wait slightly longer than I would have liked for the courses but the waitress did a great job and kept us informed about how long food would be. We chose the set menu which was good value. A la carte is quite expensive but comparible with other similar restaurants. I would definitely go again.
This was our second trip to Nobles and both times have been fantastic. I cannot fault the service or food. Both were impeccable. The chef has both times come and asked about pur experience and this time even made us bespoke dishes. Perfect!
We had the 1066 lunch. All three of us had a different menu and we were all thrilled with our choices. Excellent value for money.
Nobles is a lovely small but quality restaurant serving excellent food. Good choice menu. Simple decor. Excellent service. Will definitely go back and have already recommended to friends.
Our friends booked this restaurant for us when we were staying with them in Battle. It was their first visit also. We all enjoyed the wonderful food, and all commented on the very good feel of the place. Thought it was a nice gesture when the Chef came out and ask if we all enjoyed our food. Will certainly go there again.

Had an excellent 3 course meal at a reasonable price
Myself and friends had a great evening at Nobles last week and I have been meaning to post this since. Food is always great there. Paul has such a wonderful flair - you can tell when he's in the kitchen - and Debbie is always welcoming with a wonderful smile. Service is great. Food is terrific. Environment is modern, stylish and comfortable - you can dress up or go casual - really lovely restaurant, give it a go if you haven't been.
We really enjoyed our meal at Nobles. The service was very good. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was quite busy. The food was very nice indeed. We chose the house wine as it was one of my favourites and was very reasonably priced. All in all we had a good night.

After visiting Bodiam Castle yesterday we were looking for sunday lunch. Most places were fully booked due to father's day but we managed to get a table here. A great stroke of luck as the food was really excellent. The pork was a combination of belly and loin on a bed of perfectly cooked vegetables. The beef was equally excellent. I couldn't fault the trout either. The interior could be a bit more exciting but is spotlessley clean. Not sure when I am likely to be in Battle again but I would definitely go back!
I have not had the pleasure yet of an evening meal here but have sampled the lunch menu and was not disappointed. Great food, great location and great value for money! We will return soon.
We have visited Nobles twice now one for sunday lunch (which was excellent - the best roast beef that I have tasted in years). Went back to try their midweek lunch which was amazing value at £10.66 for two courses. Again the food was cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable. This is truly an excellent restaurant and one of the best we have visted in ages. Long may it continue to flourish - it knocks the spots off the other local eateries. We will definitely be going back - soon!
Nobles, Battle The food was beautifully presented & the restaurant had a good ambience which was relaxing. The waitress was very welcoming & helpful which made the experience more enjoyable. The food was a tiny bit on the salty side but otherwise very good. I would recommend a visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit - food excellent, service equal to it. Would re-visit when in area again WITHOUT DOUBT.
The food and ambience was good. The restaurant seemed overly simple upon entering, but the varied and high quality menu soon set it apart. the service was prompt and courteous, and the only complaint would be the paper menus, which were not what you would expect with such good service and food.
Excellent meal and service. My mum is diabetic and although this was not mentioned
when booking when the waitress said the chef had made some diabetic cheesecake and would
check if it was available. It was. This completed an excellent lunch as we were all able
to have dessert. As we booked on line the waitress said she would make a note on our account
to say there was a diabetic in the party and ensure there would be a dessert available.
Extra service like this really makes for an excellent experience!
This really is the best restaurant in the either area for fine dining in a relaxed
environment. I will go back!
This was our second visit to Nobles and the first for lunch. The food was great but the service was a little slow due to the restaurant being almost full for a mid week lunch!!! which says something about the restaurant. Nobles is a place on MY "restaurant list" and next time we are in the area we will visit again - very enjoyable.
This was my first visit to Nobles Restaurant and it definitely won't be my last. My
friend and I had a fantastic lunch, thanks to the great food and service.
Clean, bright and contemporary and the distance between tables was also very well
considered, making conversation easy.

Outstanding food within reach of Battle Abbey and the High Street shops. Superb Lunch. You have to be patient as the food is cooked lovingly while you wait. House wines are excellent value. Have always been for dinner before but I can now say that Lunch is also outstanding.
Nobles has been open in Battle for about 3 years or so. It was clear on this visit that, as always, great ingredients are cooked well and their flavours allowed to reach the diner clearly. Equally, Nobles has managed to combine both interesting and original dishes with a range of dishes that make it a neighbourhood restaurant. Mixed fish grill with noodles and saffron sauce, and the range of steaks and puddings are straightforward, accessible and delicious, but there are still interesting gems on the menu- the balance between foodie food and local pop in is very attractive. Friendly service, fresh baked bread, good coffee etc etc - a very pleasant evening.
Always made to feel very welcome and have been very accommodating, the food has always been fantastic, a nice relaxed intimate atmosphere, we have been a few times now and would go again.
We had a lovely evening at Nobles on my husband's birthday. Relaxed atmosphere, cheerful attentive service and the food was excellent, particularly the desserts. I would recommend it to friends for a special occasion and hope to return in the near future.
We thought Nobles fully justified its Michelin listing. The location, in Battle, is very attractive. The 1066 menu was very good value for money. The 'mains' were particularly enjoyable. We also thought the rioja we chose was first class. Would not hesitate to return.
The group and I had a fantastic meal on Thursday night. We meet all over the country and have eaten together in many excellent restaurants - but everyone commented repeatedly that evening and the following day on how fantastic the food was, and about the great service we received. Many thanks - we shall be coming back again.
We've had lots of meals at Nobles, our latest being a table of 5 for lunch last Saturday. All of us chose from the £10.66 2-course menu, all extremely pleased with the food and service. Excellently priced lunch menu, with a very good standard of house wine. The restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere and the staff courteous and attentive. Highly recommended!
Highly recommended - excellent food, beautifully presented with well balanced flavours and textures. Portions just right - not too large - very satisfying!
